Activities
Our aid in Armenia includes:
1. Protection measures with a focus on psychosocial support for processing traumatic experiences and building resilience
- Psychosocial care for victims of sexualized violence
- Mobile psychosocial support services
- Child protection and family support services in the child protection center and in schools (individual and group therapies for children, mothers and families as well as art, sand and drama therapy)
- Training for school and social service professionals to raise awareness of the needs of children with refugee experiences
- Child and youth camps with psychosocial support
- Intergenerational events for social integration, mutual learning and income generation
- Production of a podcast and accompanying workbooks for psychosocial support and education on topics such as self-care, stress management and career guidance
2. Rehabilitation of shelters, distribution of vouchers and provision of winter aid
- Renovation and furnishing of safe emergency shelters and equipping shelters with blankets, mattresses and cooking utensils
- Distribution of vouchers to cover the most basic needs for medicine, food and hygiene items at their own discretion
- Distribution of heating materials to particularly vulnerable households to bridge the coldest winter months
3. Dissemination of information and support in setting up local structures
- Listing of services already available in Armenia for refugees
- Establishment of a telephone hotline to support access to existing services
- Provision of IT equipment such as computers for key actors, such as local authorities and civil organizations
- Technical support to the government through training of local authorities, support and needs assessment in providing services to refugees
- Conducting training on needs assessment of vulnerable and rural populations and raising awareness on humanitarian standards
