Sign of Hope stands by people worldwide whose rights are violated or threatened. A particular focus is on religious freedom - we advocate for religious tolerance and the rights of persecuted religious minorities.
On the basis of our own research, both in the affected countries, but also through networks in Germany, Sign of Hope would like to exert a targeted influence. We attach great importance to involving the respective national and international media in this work, in order to inform the public and to build up pressure on those responsible.
Our expert knowledge is also in demand at the United Nations: We have consultative status so that Sign of Hope can influence the discussions and decisions of the relevant UN bodies with submissions, publications and events. For us, this is a special form of participation to draw attention to grievances, in which we can incorporate the experience gained from our daily work.
Sign of Hope also regularly initiates petitions with the help of many supporters, in which cases of particularly serious human rights violations are articulated. These include the rights of religious minorities and women's rights. With the help of the petitions, we would like to move those responsible to act. In addition, Sign of Hope carries out its own human rights projects in various countries. In this way, we advocate for the respect and protection of human dignity.
