The South American state has achieved an economic upswing.

According to the Human Development Report 2021/2022, Peru has a population of more than 33 million. In recent years, the poverty rate and income inequality have fallen. However, indigenous communities and families in rural areas feel little of this. They often live in poverty and have no secure access to water or basic sanitation.
